Oh My Pigeons! - Overview
Collect adorable pigeons? Yes please! This is a beautifully designed game where you collect pigeons and give them a home on your bench. This is a fast-paced game where, despite their adorableness, you cannot become too attached to your pigeons! Players will attempt to steal, remove or flick your pigeons off your bench. Let the fowl play begin.
Pigeon Facts:
- Pigeons have been domesticated for thousands of years. They were used by ancient civilisations, including the Egyptians, for messaging purposes and even employed during World Wars I and II. Pigeons are war heroes!
- Pigeons can see in the ultraviolet spectrum (we cannot), and they can recognise individuals and distinguish between images of people with ease!
- Pigeons are extraordinary navigators. They can find their way home from hundreds of miles away by using the Earth’s magnetic field, the position of the sun, and visual landmarks.
- Pigeons are very adaptable, which is why they are found in most cities around the world. Please be kind to these sweet birds when you see them next :)
How to Play Oh My Pigeons!
Rule the roost by filling your bench with pigeons. Use the action cards to tempt other pigeons with snacks, steal pigeons from other players or knock pigeons off your opponent’s bench by flicking the die. Or if you want to be nice to your opponents, you can simply gather pigeons from the flock.
Steps
- Give each player a bench and three pigeons.
- Place the remaining pigeons in the middle of the table. They are now a flock. Pigeons will navigate their way between the benches and flock.
- Shuffle the cards well and deal each player three cards. Place the remaining cards face down near the flock.
- INCOMING BEST RULE EVER - The last person who saw a pigeon goes first!
- On your turn, play a card. Place it face up to start the discard pile (place it next to the draw pile).
- IF you have two heart cards, you can play both on your turn.
- IF you play the Oh My Pigeons card, grab the die and roll for pigeons!
- IF you roll…..
- 3 - Take 3 pigeons from the flock in the middle.
- 5 - Take 5 pigeons from the flock in the middle
- 4 (steal) - Take a total of 4 pigeons from other players - you can split between multiple players
- 2 (steal) - Take a total of 2 pigeons from other players - you can split between multiple players
- Blast - Place the die near your own bench and flick it toward another player’s bench. Any pigeons knocked off go back to the flock.
- The NON card with the baguette pigeon can be played at any time (yes, even when it is not your turn) to stop another player from taking the action described on the card or stop them from taking pigeons - PROTECT YOUR PIGEONS!
- At the end of your turn, draw until you have 3 cards in your hand.
WIN - As soon as you fill your bench, you have won!!!
If no one has a full bench when all the cards are drawn, each player gets one more turn to try to collect pigeons, then the person with the most pigeons wins.

Oh My Pigeons! - Tips and Tricks
Don’t get Attached.
Be careful of stacking your bench, as players can steal your whole bench just before your pigeons roost.
Action Cards
Knowing when to hold and play action cards can save your game. You need to be aware that anyone could steal your bench at any time. My tip would be to hold onto that card until close to the end, so that if your bench is stolen, or if someone else’s bench is looking very nice, you can grab what you want.
Positioning your Pigeons
Where you position your initial three pigeons can be important. If your opponent tries to flick your pigeons, you have better odds of some remaining on the bench if they are spread out.
Oh My Pigeons! - Honest Review
This is such a beautifully designed game. The box and the action cards are a work of art! What is not to love about collecting tiny pigeon figurines? This game is really easy to get the hang of and can be very competitive in groups. This is a quick game to play and has great action cards that keep the game fluid and moving. You can always hope to steal another player’s bench if you are having trouble filling your own. We like that you get the opportunity to rebuild your bench each round. This helps ensure that everyone remains engaged in the gameplay. The other thing to consider is that gameplay can heavily depend on the cards that are dealt. If someone gets a very good hand, the game may be over quickly, but I guess you will just have to play another round!
